The word itself is beautiful no?
Beauty.
I’ve spent many years wondering what that word means. After all, words are just sounds we make with our mouths to transmit some idea, emotion, or mix of the two. So when I say ‘mad’ you could interpret that as ‘irritated’ or you could think of it as ‘enraged’. The same goes for beauty.
To me, beauty is similar to ‘truth’. A deep rabbit hole we could fall into, but I’ll simplify it to be ‘authentic & self resonant truth’ - that’s the best you’ll get from me at 5 am as I write this.
Beauty comes in all forms then (in this contextual range). Think of:
- beauty of life
- beauty of death
- beauty of the elements
- beauty of matter
- beauty of the senses
- beauty of consciousness
- beauty of perception
- beauty of misunderstandings
The list is literally endless, because it is about the “authentic & self resonant truth”. It is a highly subjective and sometimes objective reality. It can be fluid, solid, static, &/o charged. It’s existence is beautiful.
What’s the point?
Like many abstract concepts, it’s easy to get lost in the theoretical - never making it to the practical, the useful. I’m interested in bridging that gap in regards to ‘beauty’. There is only a sliver of that in which I am uniquely equipped for however.
Enter Abstraverse; what started as an art experiment has grown into an art project. One thousand one of one digital paintings distributed to passionate cryptoart collectors to begin a journey of materializing ‘beauty’.
For the sake of this post, some of the inner limbs of beauty include:
- beauty of self sovereign creators
- beauty of decentralized culture
- beauty of a global scale art collection/brand
- beauty of cryptoart influencing culture
If you’re wondering how 1000 paintings can even begin to accomplish that, then you are the kind of person I’m interested in for this project. It starts with curiosity.
Abstraverse is an art collection. AV Club is the art protocol that owning 1/1000 grants membership to.
There are 877 pieces left to be sold via auction with all funds going to a club treasury. These funds will be used to hire talent, scale the internal network, & build relationships with the cryptoart/digital collectibles industry. It is the beginning of our journey.
